Impractical and Annoying Microsoft Office Update System

J

Jack

The requirement of having to find your original disks to update Office is the
single
most annoying characteristic of Office. Most users I know do not download
Office updates because of it. If Microsoft refuses to change this, they
might have to learn about satisfying customers the hard way. Given all of
the security holes in Microsoft products, the company should want to have its
products updated instead of making it impractical for many users. I move
around a lot and it is just not practical to carry disks with me everywhere I
go. So, please, wake up and save us the trouble of having to find a new
product. By the way, has anyone found a good Office alternative that avoids
this annoying update requirement?

If you leave the installer setup files that are copied to your computer when
you first install office then you should not need the disk. However if you
need the disk space or just don't want the setup files to remain then you
will be asked for the disk.
