If you are using PowerPoint 2004 (I don't think this is available in X,
and I do think it is available in 2004, but someone else will correct me
if I am wrong), you can use animation triggers. This will allow a click
on a certain item to animate another item. So, you can put each piece of
text in its own text box and have that text box animate when you click on
a button on your screen.
Alternatively, you can use VBA. Two solutions are to type the items as
you go by clicking on a button that asks you to enter something to be
added to the list, or to use hide and show to hide and show previously
created text items. I have examples of this on my web site:

For the type-as-you-go solution, look at example 6.7 (click on Examples
by Chapter and Chapter 6). For examples of hiding and showing objects,
you can look at Examples 6.4, 6.6, and 6.8.
