Improvements in MS Project Professional 2007 vs. 2003

Hi, I have been told that many improvements have been made to MS Project
Professional 2007 vs. 2003. My company still runs 2003. Is there anywhere
that I can view a list of the improvements made to MS Project
Professional/PWA in the 2007 version vs. 2003? Right now my company is
looking to change a lot of processes and depending on what has been improved
in 2007, it might make more sense to upgrade since this will omit a lot of
work that I have to put in to 2003 to get it to where we need it to be as far
as customizing it. Please point me in the direction of some type of listing
of improvements. Thanks.

Hi, this link does not display anything but an error page that it cannot find
server? Can you try resending the link again? Thanks.

Thanks, and I will probably end up buying an updated book once we convert.
But, I'm not sure when/if that will be. So, in the meantime I am trying to
determine if the items we are trying to improve upon now have been solved in
the new version or not. If not, I need to start figuring ways around them to
customize our process. Is there a simple listing of all changes available?
Not something that goes into any detail at all, I just need to know what was
changed in the basic sense. Any direction you could provide would be great.
Thanks.

When I clicked on the link, I also got that it couldn't find the page. Then I
pasted http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/projectserver as the URL & clicked
on the link to see what's new in the EPM solution & got the same error. Now
I can't even get to the the projectserver page. Microsoft is having issues
with their site. Keep trying. The page is a little misleading though. When
they say EPM they're including their Project Portfolio Server in the
features--which is a separate purchase - so disregard the top 7 or 8 features.

The main difference on the web is that timesheets is completely split off
from project updates. There is also the ability to do Activity Plans and
Proposals on the web without the Project client, but both are pretty limited
in this version. The cube is more robust & easier to modify. On the Project
side, multiple level undo is wonderful. You can also see the effect of one
change on the rest of the schedule & see what is affecting the start date of
a task. The whole back-end has been re-written so updates go faster.

You still probably ought to take a look at the "What's New" book from
ProjectServer Experts, as it sounds like you're making a major decision
without enough to go on. You might also want to wait on SP1, as MOPS 2007 has
not been without its growing pains.
