Improving Mac Excel 2008 Slowness

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: intel

Hi,

Would like to check on how to "speed-up" the Mac Excel 2008 as the words/sentences do not come out as I type, but after 5-6 seconds.

I am running on MacBook 2.2 with 4GB RAM.

I have the same problem, and would like to see an answer. This is all over the Internet and not an answer to be found. I thought they licked the slow typing thing back in 1984.
