in email error msg - address list could not be displayed

My outlookemail was working fine this morning - this afternoon I tried to
send an email and when I tried to add an address I got an error - saying -
The address list can not be displayed it may have been moved or deleted???
Can anyone help me?

Is this a Word or Outlook question. If it is the latter, please post in the
