In Excel how can I add symbol to entire column?

I downloaded a list of songs for a karaoke book. Column 1-Song Title Column
2-Artist Column 3-Disc Number Column 4-Song Number.

I would like to add a "-" symbol to the ENTIRE column 4. There are 1,000
songs and I would hate to go through EVERY single number and place a dash
before the number.

In other words, as is, it would look like this: "Respect Franklin,
Arethra 63 9" I would like it to look like this "Respect Franklin,
Arethra 63-9" Thank you.

Put -1 (minus one) in a cell and copy (the cell)

highlight column 4

Paste Special=>Operation=>Multiply

Delete -1 from your cell.

Select column D (the entire column) and then:

Edit > Replace and enter a space in the replace what field and a dash in the
replace with field and then replace all

Here's a short macro that will do this:

Dim cell As Range
For Each cell In Selection
If cell.Value <> "" Then
cell.Value = "-" & cell.Value
Else: cell.Value = cell.Value
End If

Next cell

End Sub

To install the macro
Hit ALT F11 to open the VBE
Hit CTRL R to open the Project Explorer
Right click on your file name
Select Insert>Module
Paste the macro code into the window that opens on the right
Hit ALT Q to return to Excel
Select the range of song numbers in column 4 then run the macro.
