In Normal (called Draft view if you are using Word 2007), display the
footnotes pane. In the footnote pane, choose to display the footnote
separator, which you can then edit as desired. If you want more detailed
instructions, please tell us your version of Word.
Switch to Normal (2007: Draft) View. Then choose View > Footnotes
(2007: Referemces > Show Notes)
At the top of the panel that opens is a dropdown; choose Footnote
Separator. Note that it's normally set to the paragraph style Normal.
You can alter it just like you would any paragraph.
Change the indentation to 0, and drag the line to the right edge. But
note that that will make it look the same as the Footnote Continuation
Separator, which probably isn't the best idea.
You can also
change the Footnote Continuation Separator while you're there --
changes in one don't percolate to the other.
