In FrontPage, i am unable to rename a page html

P

Paulinnc

I am trying to rename my pages "html" from the default "htm". I go to the
folder, right-click, choose rename, type the name the html extension, and I
get an error message saying that the destination already exists, although the
file is name htm. Thanks for any help. And, byt the way, why does FT use the
htm extension?

Are you doing this on your local machine or the live/remote server?

In the DOS world, all file extensions are 3 characters.

However, the only page in your web that would need to have .html would be your home page file name
and this is set by the web host.
