in-line text in W2007 options won't apply

How do I get a changed Word option to apply and be retained? On the advanced
group in W2007 options, I changed my "insert/paste pictures as" FROM inline
text TO in front of text for a particular project. However, when I changed it
back TO inline text, which I need 99% of the time, it continues to stay at
"in front of text." This also affects inserted objects, not just pictures.

Has anyone else found a solution for this?
