In Outlook, after editing an Outbox message it won't send.

I used to be able to go in and edit messages in my outbox and they would
"send" automatically with other Outbox messages. Now that I have Outlook
2003, when I edit a message in the outbox, it will not send...I have to
manually go in, copy the message, and open a new mail message window and copy
it into that before it will send. Has anyone else had this problem. Is
there something I can reconfigure so this doesn't happen?

Yup, seems to be a configuration of Outlook 2003. Not nice...

The only way I've found to get around it is to forward the mail, click back
onto another folder (i.e. NOT outbox), tidy up the message you want to send,
then fire away. You then have to delete the original message as it will just
sit there, otherwise. Clumsy, but it works.

After you open/edit the OutBox message, make sure you click the SEND button
AGAIN. Don't 'close' the message with the "X." The closed envelope icon
should appear to the left of the message indicating it's SET to be sent......
and should go the next time you order a SEND. If not, your OL2003 is not
acting as programmed.

Otherwise I don't know a solution but I think the Forwarding 'workaround' is
better than copy/past into a new message.

I use OL2003 also and this version (and all prior versions that I have used)
operate properly if the SEND button is used. Xing out of an edited message
that's in the OutBox will save the edit but will not RE-flag the message to
SEND. Been there, done that!

I am finding this! mail that is in the outbox will never send if you view the
outbox folder
Seems a very silly problem and one I can't get a answer to :-(

That is not what is being explained here. What they say is that pressing
Send again after you've edited a message in the Outbox saves the
modifications and puts it back into the spooler.

I am having the same problems. I have disabled outgoing scans on
Norton.Switched folder before sending. Any other suggestions???
