In Outlook, I often hear a "suction cup" sound, what is this?

When working in Outlook, I periodically hear the sound of a "suction cup"...
I've not installed instant messaging so I'm wondering where the sound is
coming from since I don't see any visual cues on my screen when I hear it.
Any thoughts as to what is causing this sound?
