In over my head...

Hi,

I used to be half way decent in access...but 3 years as a SAHM has me
rusty now.

What I want to do is create a pretty basic contact list. Names, work
and home phone...birthdates by month and day only (no year) and addy
and so on.

I cannot for the life on me remember how to set up a birthday column
for just month and day.

Can you send some words of wisdom my way please.

thank you

Tammy

Tammy,

I would recommend 2 fields, one for BirthMonth and one for BirthDay.

Steve that was my plan B but wanted to make it in one field.

My sister is a hairdresser and wants a DB for her client list. Thought
the less fields there were the simpler it would be for her,

thanks for the reply.

Tammy,

No, two fields would be simpler than one in this instance. You would
be able to construct the form in such a way that the entry and display
of the data would be almost indistiguishable from a single field, if
you like.

By the way, does your sister know you say things like that about her?
I actually know a couple of hairdressers who are reasonably
intelligent. <g>

Hahaha,

She is the first to admit it...once she hits the power button she is
lost.

I am teaching her.

thanks for your input.
