I have played around with Access but don't have a firm grasp of it. I bought
a couple of Access books, Using MS Access 2007, Access 2002 Desktop
Developer's Handbook & Access 2005 Comprehensive Concepts & Techniques. I
have Access 2007 on my home computer & Access 2003 on my work computer.
I have been working on a database for our agency to track enter seized items
and keep track of them. I have created the database, but it does not work
properly. I want the user to be able to enter a new case number and if the
case does not exist then it allows them to enter the information for the new
case. Once that form opens and they add the new information, they can go to
another form (pre-search form) where they input the information specific to
that case. I have a subform embedded on this form that should updated
automatically. It doesn't. Also, what happens when I enter test data, the
information entered into the pre-search is wiped out and a new record is
created.
I am willing to zip the database to anyone who wants a challenge. Like I
said, I am in over my head.
