In Powerpoint, how do I toggle movie play/pause without pointing?

When giving a presentation with a remote mouse, it is extremely difficult to
point to specific places on the screen (usually you just click the mouse).
In Powerpoint, you can toggle play/pause by pointing at the movie window.
How can you get play/pause to work just by clicking the mouse? The only way
I have been able to get it to work, is to add multiple pause effects. But,
this way you are limited to a specific number of pauses, and you have to
remember that number for each slide.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. When I try to change the "trigger"
for pause to "animate on click sequence", it goes back to the beginning of
the movie!! Any suggestions?

First, make a rectangle that covers the whole slide. Right click on the rec
and click Format Autoshape. Set transparency to 0%, and with no line. This
creates an invisible rectangle.

Now, add effect > Movie actions > Pause.
then, add effect > Movie actions > Play.
Then, highlight both effects. Right click, then click on timing.
Click Trigger and put a check mark on Start effect on click of. Select the
invisible rectangle and click ok.

Note that both the effects must be "On click".

Thank you very much for your suggestion. I found that your idea worked, but
it still required pointing to the rectangle (making sure not to point at the
movie). I am really looking for a toggle play/pause on just the click, since
with the remote mouse it is so difficult to position the pointer on the right
rectangle.

Thanks again for your help
