In PowerPoint, to edit a table, I double-click it and do my thing then click
off of it so that it is in the regular slide view. This is where my troubles
start, alot of times the table gets hacked off. I've had this problem for a
really long time, and I usually end up formatting the chart to just be
smaller by squeezing rows, deleting, etc. but I'm sure there has to be a
better way.. It seems that what I'm seeing on the table is fine and should
fit becaue there's even empty rows below in the edit view but when I click
off of the edit view, it chops some text off even though like I said earlier,
there was empty space below. Does anyone know a better way around this? It
appears it wants a huge margin so that it can still eliminate when it goes
into the slide view......Help!

PPT 97?

Right-click the table and choose Open instead of double-clicking to open.
That often helps control the table view.

Delete the extra empty rows at the bottom of the chart. Delete also any
extra empty columns. Turn on the paragraph marker in the table and delete
any extra paragraph markers below the table.

After you click on the slide to deactivate the table, right-click on the
table and choose Format Object. On the size tab, adjust the height and
width, but make sure to keep the aspect ratio selected so the fonts don't
end up all distorted.
