I was hoping to find an answer to this same question re Courier appearing in
Font folder but not in the toolbar dropdowns. I'd beg to differ with the
earlier "to all intents and purposes the same" comment. Courier New uses
proportional spacing, which can affect the pagecount significantly. If you're
writing to a specific wordcount, no probs, but if pagecount is the target, be
careful, you could get a materially different result by using Courier New
rather than Courier.

Use Courier New.

Thank you very much. My instructor wanted Courier because of his vision.
However I recall working in Windows 98 years ago and being able to somehow
go
into word and pull out a specific font to use. Is this possible with my
XP
system and if so, how. It doesn't have to be Courier, I would just like
to
remember how it was done.
Thanks Again.

Windows 98, ME, and 2000 have Courier - Windows XP doesn't. I don't think
there's a lot of difference between the two. If you REEEEEEEEEEEEEEALLY
look
for differences, you will find them but for all intents and purposes,
consider them the same.

I have to type a paper and the instructor requests Courier. I have
Office
2000 and it is not listed as one of the choices in Word (only Courier
New).
I did however find it in my fonts folder. Is there anyway to get my
version
of Word to use this font? I used a computer at the lab which had
office
2003
installed on it and Courier was listed (but not Courier New - how odd).
