in visio 2003 how can you specify an exact dimension?

I have a step by step instruction book but it's for Visio 2007. I want to do
layouts for a building so thought I'd practice on an office layout - my 2003
version doesn't have industrial layout template - there's another question
...... does anyone know how I can get a template for this version? Anyway,
back to the original question - in the book it says as a tip that I might
need to zoom in to specify exact dimension but it's not clear to me what this
means. It seems that I can change the display dimension to 1/4" : 1' for
example or other dimensions but, when you drag the shape size you can't get
it exact - this kind of negates the fact that the software allows you to draw
to scale. So, CAN I set an exact dimension and if so, how? Hope someone can
help. Thank you!

Have you tried the Size & Position window (under View)
Not only can you enter dimensions accurately, you can also enter in
formulae, such as 3 in * 2.25

Remember to enter units - you can enter metric or imperial, sorrry US :),
units!

Thank you David! As a complete novice to Visio it didn't occur to me that
this would be the place to make the change as I always think of view as just
looking at something rather than changing something so I thought this was
just to show the current dimensions! I'm sure there are lots of other things
to learn along the way but I feel happier now knowing there are people out
there that can help me!

I don't really understand the formula thing though ..... ?
