Addendum: the reason I am interested in the "Form Shapes" is to be able to
create (in Visio) the equivalent of complex questionnaire forms (that would
contain the traditional form text boxes, check boxes, shaded areas, etc)
which could then serve dual purposes: 1) the WYSIWYG design provided by Visio
would allow me to print out hard copy of the questionnaires and those printed
forms would replace the same hardcopy forms that are currently being designed
printed in MS Word, and 2) in Visio design mode I could "annotate" the
individual text fields and checkboxes on these questionnaires by assigning
custom properties to each field (relating to info such as the fieldname, the
database field into which the data will be stored, various editing info such
as min/max values, and various other custom attributes) which, in turn, would
be part of the XML export of that form's form definition info. Thus, I would
be using Visio to create an "intelligent form" whose form definition could be
exported to, for example, a separate .NET process which in turn could
dynamically generate an equivalent ASP.NET data entry form (and as a
byproduct of that process I would no longer need to design the same paper
form in MS Word). Does anyone has suggestions as to how to accomplish this?
