In Visio2003, How do you rotate a blank page when first opened?

set it to landscape then save the template (menu File Save As and
select template). Now use that template to start in the future.

Hi,

If you means to turn a page on the visio window,
next operations may be a way.
Pressing [CTRL] Key, move mose to a corner of page.
Then the mouse pointer changes to circular arrow.
Press right button, and move mouse, then the page turns.

Correction:
The last line, Press right button is to be changed to left or right button,
sorry.

That's amazing! I've been using Visio for years and I didn't know that.

It really is a fabulous piece of software, and seriously under-appreciated,
in my opinion. Visio Corp. did a superb job.

Steve.

How would you use this function.
Unfortunately, I can never realize how useful it is.

I have to admit that I can't think of a single use for it! I guess that's
why I never discovered it - I never had need of it.

But it's still really cool.

How about if you had to do the office layout for a triangular shaped
building with all the window offices aligned with the wall? For two of the
walls you would be dealing with the normal horizontal and vertical
distances, but for the third wall you would have an angle to deal with.
Would it not be easier to rotate the drawing by that angle?

Yes, that would work. Especially as the layout grid stays put. Nice idea.

I think Visio must be the best piece of software I've ever used. It was
tremendously innovative when it first came out, and there is still little or
nothing like it even now. Was it Visio that pioneered the superb system of
mouse-navigation? Viz:

Scroll = pan vertically
Shift+scroll = pan horizontally
Ctrl+scroll = zoom

That Shift+scroll for the horizontal pan is so fantastically useful I can't
work out why it isn't standard in all Office apps that could use it, such as
Excel, OneNote, and so on.

I've tried to learn various CAD programs and found them all to be pretty
tough going. But Visio is more of a "technical drawing" tool than
full-blown CAD, and much easier to use.

I'm always banging on about its virtues - it's amazing how few people have
used it or even heard of it. Visio Corp did a cracking job of it.
