In WORD 2003: Selecting "Edit/Find" doesn't display dialog box

The 'Subject' title says it all. When I select Edit then Find, I get a quick
flash and nothing happens.

It used to open a dialog box from which I could enter the text that I wanted
to find or replace.

Now, I never get to see that dialog box any more.

Does the same thing happen if you press Ctrl+F? What about Ctrl+H (should
open the dialog with the Replace tab on top)?

As a first step, go to Tools>Customize - Toolbars. Click the *name* of the
Menu Bar, then click Reset & OK. If that doesn't fix it take a look at:

Thanks Suzanne and CyberTaz

Prior to opening these responses, I had just returned from a Computer Club
meeting at which I posed the problem question. I was directed to "Repair" my
Office Installation. I did that and for some reason, the 'Edit/Find' function
worked. It appears that CyberTaz's comment 'stuff happens' was appropriate.

Thank you both again, John Membrino
