In Word 2007, every third save - file permission error??

In Word 2007, about every third save, a file permission error comes up. It
then asks if I want to save it again, I choose OK, then a Save As box comes
up. In the filename text box, a filename is in there with a ~, and the name
of the file is changed at the top of the window. Previously, I had saved
other changes to the document, without an error. This happens in other
documents also. What do I do to fix this? I'd appreciate any help you can
give.

Are you saving to a local HDD? Which OS and are both the OS and Word fully
patched up to date?
