In Word, how do I search to fnd a character in a specific font?

I have converted WordPerfect documents into Word. However, apostrophes are
translated as equal signs, closing quotes come out as @, and open quotes come
out as a capitalized seraphed A. I can do a find and replace on the first
two instances, but when I search for the open quotes "A" every single
instance of the letter will be searched for. Is there a way to search
specifically for the character in the font needed?

You can specify the font in the Find dialog (More | Format | Font), but the
reason you're getting these characters is that you don't have the WP
Typographic Symbols font installed, so it's unlikely that Find will find
that formatting.

Thanks. It looks like it will be a manual job then. Appreciate the head's up
so I don't waste time looking for a solution.

You can still use Find to search for them. I have had good luck copying the
characters and using Ctrl+V to paste them into the Find dialog. Even though
they may not be displayed correctly, Word may very well find just the ones
you want it to find. It's been a while since I had to do this, so I'm a
little vague on the details; sorry!
