inability to copy images

List members:

I'm working on an Intel computer running OS 10.4.11.
When I try to copy slides images from a commercial image database
on the Internet, both Firefox and Safari will only let me copy these
images as "bmp" files or "Windows Bitnet". Powerpoint 2004 for the Mac
will not open either file type.
I'd appreciate any thoughts; thank you in advance.
