I'm having difficulty determining the proper steps to deactivating a
resource. Maybe this will help someone in the future, as I can find
bits and pieces here, but nothing that's comprehensive. This is what
I am doing...would you please let me know if this is correct:
1. Go to PWA and determine if the resource's Remaining Work is "0" in
all projects to which they were assigned.
2. If yes, Open the Enterprise Resource Pool, select the resource.
Open Resource Information.
3. Change the setting as follows:
Workgroup = None
Booking Type = Proposed
Select "Inactive"
4. Save Changes to Checked-Out Enterprise Resources (PWA will now
also reflect that the resource is inactive).
If PWA shows that the resource HAS Remaining Work, notify the Project
Manager that these tasks need to be zeroed out or reassigned to
another resource. Once this is done, perform steps above.
This procedure will maintain historical information for reporting
purposes.
