Inactive resources on Administrative projects causing spooler erro

I manage several administrative projects for vacation, holiday, etc. The
projects, tasks, and resource assignments were done last September. Recently
I started getting spooler errors "Publish New and Changed Assignments - The
manager cannot create the resource account (0x8C040017)". There are no local
resources assigned. However, we have a few individuals who recently left the
company and are now "Inactive" on the Resource Sheet. Since there were no
spooler errors in almost 3 months I'm assuming it is the inactive resources
causing the error. I can't delete the resources from the tasks because then
I will loose their actuals. So far I've been ignoring the spooler errors,
but I'd like to know if there is a better way.
Thanks

I think there are several possibilities for you to consider:

1. You could open the Enterprise Resource Pool and check out the Inactive
resources. Double-click each of these Inactive resources in the Resource
Sheet view and then set the Workgroup value to None. Save and close the
Enterprise Resource Pool.

2. You could log into PWA with administrator permissions and then navigate
to the Clean up Project Server database page. On that page, you could
individually delete each of the Inactive resources. When you do so, these
resources would be converted to local resources in the administrative
project and any other projects to which they are assigned. Doing this would
retain their historic actuals in each project. If necessary, you could also
perform the step in #1 in each project to which they are assigned and set
their Workgroup value to None as well.

Just a couple of ideas that might clean up the Spooler error problem. Hope
this helps.
