Inactive Resources prohibiting Plan Updates

Hi all,

I have an activity plan I am maintaining in PWA
It has some completed tasks that have resources assigned who are now
inactive (have left the organisation).

When I go to add new tasks to this plan and I assign them to a new
active resource. I get the error
" You cannot assign a task to an inactive resource or a resource that
cannot have assignments.... "

The point is that I am not changing the old, historical and completed
tasks. I merely want to add a new task which has an active and current
user/resource.

Is this possible at all, it seems to me the only option is to delete
the task or remove the old assignment.

Alice,

I guess, there may be still scheduled work associated with that
inactive resource.

In the project plan, look for the tasks assigned to that inactive
resource and update
"Remaining Work" column to 0 hours.
