Inactive resources

Hello,
When I change the status of a resource to inactive in MS Project
Professional I am not able to see that resource anymore in my resource sheet.
The resource is also not visible in PWA anymore. Does anybody know how to see
inactive users?

Hello Persoon,

I have a couple of resources that I made inactive too. I can see them if
when I open up the resource pool I select the "Include Inactive Resources"
and then hit the "Apply Filter" button to the right of that box. It will
then allow you to see those resources inside the resource pool when you check
it out. Hope that helped. I can also go to "Resources" on PWA and view all
active and inactive resources there.

I have a problem with inactive resources too. I have changed an inactive
resource in the resource pool and am wanting to change it back to active but
I get an error everytime I try.

The error reads as follows:

*MS Project is unable to process request
*An invalid node name parameter was specified

If I make multiple changes to various resources and try to change that
resource back to active it takes all the changes but the changing my inactive
resource back to active.

Any ideas guys?

Hello,

Thanks for your tip. It worked!!

I read somewhere in the newsgroup that the best thing to do when you want to
activate an inactive resource is to do it in PWA. I do not exactly know where
the topic is, but try the search option and search for inactive resource or
search for the error meassage you receive.

Greetings.

I originally changed that resource from active to inactive in PWA but
regardless if I use MS Project and check out the Enterprise Resource Pool or
go through PWA and open the resource into MS Project I get that same error.

Thanks though. :)

Is your project server being synchronized with AD? If so, the AD user
account is deleted, and sid as well. So project server is point to the wrong
sid. You may have to recreate the new users/ resource pool accounts.
