Inbox and sent folder issues

I am trying to set up my college mail account with outlook 2002. I followed
my schools instructions how to do this and it works to an extent. I now have
my mail account in the Folder List but it is separate from the Outlook Today
icon. I'm not sure how to explain, but it is the same level as "Outlook
Today" (as opposed to, say, Calendar, which is on the level below Outlook
Today). Anyways, if you can follow what I'm saying, when I receive an email
it goes to my school's mail account (not the "Inbox" that is within Outlook
Today) but when I send an email it is stored in "Sent Items" within Outlook
Today (and not my school's mail account sent folder). I would just like
everything to be together; I have no preference if everything is maintained
under my school's mail account or Outlook Today, but I would like them
connected. Let me know if I need to clarify anything else. Thanks.

Sounds like you have a PST file you don't want, set as the delivery location
for your mail. You can change this in tools | email accounts....modify the
mail account settings. You can move the items from <bad folder> to <good
folder> in Outlook....then close the errant PST file by right-clicking on
the top-level folder therein.
