Inbox email are disappearing

I am using Outlook 2003 with MS Exchange. My problem is that as soon as I
read an inbound email it disappears. I checked all the filters. I can't
even search the inbox to find old emails. What is going on?

You may be filtering out the display of read messages. Try this:

Click on <View><Arrange By><Current View>

if there is a check next to <unread messages> simply click on <messages>.
