Inbox mail gets deleted when forwarding or replying

Every time i reply to or forward an email message it disappears from the INBO
I mean gone, the only place it can be found is in the sent items

Outlook 2000 sr1
running exchang
messages are being stored in the mailboxes not a ps
no where close to mailbox limi

what is up with this.

I bet it would turn up in the Inbox if you used Advanced Find. And I bet
you're using the Unread Messages view.
