Inbox not displaying emails

Outlook 2007 on WinXP, SP3 not on Exchange.

I use Mailwasher to filter my email before downloading so I know there is
mail on the server. I click Send/Receive in Outlook but the Inbox doesn't
display the email, if I click on another folder (Sent) and then click on
Inbox, there it is. Thank you in advance.
