Inbox shows new messages

I have an Outlook 2002 user whose inbox shows 69 unread
messages, yet there are no messages in her inbox. I
checked it by opening her profile on the server which is
Exchnage 5.5, with outlook 2000 and I see the same.

Why is this?

Try starting her Outlook for the command line with the reset folders switch.
Start>Run>outlook.exe /resetfolders

Hi,
I had this once, and for some very strange reason if I
highlighted all and then "MARK AS READ" it cleared the
error... this was after trying everything else possible.
(even though when looking at all msgs they were already
all read.)
