Inbox Shows Unread Messages That Aren't There

I am having a problem where the inbox folder shows 20 unread messages in bold, but all of my messages have been read. When view unread messages only, no messages are displayed yet the unread message count next to the inbox won't go away. Anyone else experience this problem?

Rebuild your database but first, make a duplicate in the Finder as
additional backup. A rebuild does make a duplicate, but sometimes in the
process the original and backup get merged resulting in total disaster. This
is rare, but it's easy to make the duplicate as added insurance.

I have the same problem and rebuilding the database hasn't sorted it out.

You will manually need to move your data to a new Identity.

What version of Entourage are you guys seeing this problem on? What happens
if you create a new saved search and have the criteria be "Status is Unread"
and try different search scopes such as Inbox, your entire account, All
Messages, and Everything?

I have the same problem, but I can't find out how to do a search with the criterion 'Status is unread'. Can you advise?

I'm using Entourage 2008 v.12.1.0. I think this problem emerged after the most recent update.

Add criteria:

Status is unread

You can click on the arrow next to "New" and click "Saved Search". After
that you can edit the criteria using the drop down menu on the left.
