We have started to evaluate Office 2003 for installation in our organization.
We currently run Office XP. When we upgraded 2 existing workstations
running Office XP, we were able to use all of the new features of Office 2003
except one. We have been unable to get the date field in the inbox to use
the "smart" date format that Office 2003 is supposed to use. For example, a
message from a month ago still says Friday, April 15, 2005 2:05 pm rather
than just April 15, 2005 or an email from last week says the full
day/date/time format rather than just Monday 2:05 pm. We have tried to use
customize current view but have been unable to find the setting to have
outlook user the new "smart" date feature.
