Inbox View mysteriously changes

Instead of the usual font, the message headers appeared grayed-out and in
italics. Everything seems to operate ok. I can restore the correct
appearance by going to View / Current View / Customize / Restore but soon it
is gray italics again. It happens in personal folders too. Sometimes I see
a flash of what might be a dialog box but it is gone too quickly to read. I
have run McAfee, Ad Aware and Windows Defender scans which were all negative.
This seems like a virus?

If you start Outlook in safe mode (hold Ctrl when you start it), does it still
happen? What version of Outlook?

My Outlook is doing this too and my scans have shown nothing. Yes, the
dialog box appears for a split second even when I'm simply deleting a
message without having opened it.
