Include required registry items to install Office SP2 !!

A

ah

I am unable to install Office SP2 after I have downloaded it. I think that a
registry cleanup program has deleted registry items needed for the
installation. The instructions for repairing this problem are exceedingly
complicated. Why can't the download simply include all necessary registry
items needed for the installation? Any suggestions for a "quick fix"?

Hi Ah,

I'm not sure how the update could be expected anticipate the need to
replace/check every registry entry related to Office 2003 that
might have been damaged by use of a 3rd party registry cleaner.

What steps are you referring to and what specific error are
you seeing and in the MSIxxxx.log and \ohotfix logs you find
when typing %temp% in Start=>Run.

Have you run a repair/reinstall of Office 2003?

Do you have more than one 2003 series product listed in
Add/Remove Programs in the Windows control panel?
