Including Chapter Numbers in a Table of Contents

Using Windows 2000 and Word 2000, is it possible to have chapter numbers
appear in a table of contents. For example, the page numbers in the header
show up as: chapter number-page number (2-3, 2-4, 2-5, etc). When I generate
the TOC only the page numbers show up. I would like both chapter and page
number. Can it be done?

The only way this can work is if you have included the chapter number in
your page number automatically (by checking the box for "Include chapter
number" in the Page Number Format dialog. To be able to do that, you must
have used one of the built-in heading styles for the chapter title/number,
and it must be autonumbered. See
