Including para numbers in hyperlink

I am creating hyperlinks in a Word document to link to other sections of the
document. I have used automatic numbering and would like the para numbers to
appear in the hyperlink. At the moment only the para name appears. How can I
get the para number to be included as well?

Can you please clarify - do you mean the para has to be created using heading
style, or the hyperlink?

The paras I am linking to have all been created with heading style, e.g.
"5.4.1 Loan Maintenance Requests". All that is showing in the hyperlink is
"Loan Maintenance Requests".

Yes, but it sounds like you've already done that. Mine seems to work best if
using more than one heading, however, since you've already set them up as
headings and that is not working, you can put the para number in when you
insert the hyperlink. When inserting a hyperlink note the very top bar which
reads text to display - you can add the number in there.

Thanks for this. My difficulty is that if I manually insert the para number,
if the para numbers change, I have to go back and manually change the number.
I was hoping to avoid this as I have some documents with heaps of links! Any
other suggestions?
