Incoming eMails open at the bottom

When new eMails in the InBox are double clicked to open them in a new window, some of the eMails appear scrolled all the way to the bottom of the newly openned window. If the Preview pane is enabled, the eMails show correctly there, but if double clicked the eMail shows incorrectly in the new window. It's not all all eMails and seems to affect eMails from certain users, but not others.

I can replicate this effect partially with Read Receipts on another Mac running Entourage, but not with normal eMails. If I double click on Read Receipt eMails they appear scrolled down to the bottom in the new window.

This is not the window that appears when you click on Reply or Forward, this is the standard read an eMail window. Though I've tried changing the settings for Reply/Forward to see if they affected things, they didn't.

I'd really appreciate any thoughts on this that anyone has...

When you double click on the window, what field is the window sorted on? You
can determine that by which column is highlighted. You can change it by
clicking on a column to sort or using Arrange By on the View menu.

The In Box is usually viewed in order of date received (last received is first). However it is occassionally changed to sort by title or sender.

It should open sorted on whichever sort field was active when the window was
last closed. Is that not happening?

Thank you for replying,

I'm worried I'm not explaining myself clearly however, it's not the position of the messages in the Inbox list that is the problem. It is the view of the messages content when it is double clicked and viewed in a new window. In these situations the window shows the messages scrolled all the way to the bottom and not the top.
