Incoming mail for Office 2003 Outlook

Incoming mail goes directly into "Unread" folder with no entry of text in
"Inbox "folder. However, the number of items entering Unread folder is
registerd in the Inbox folder. Accessing Unread folder shows e-mail text but
the e-mail gets wiped out on going to another folder. This is most
embarrassing as I'm losing incoming e-mail. No such problem using Outlook
Express.
