Incoming Mail Goes Missing in Action

After years with no problems, and several weeks of Snow Leopard all of a
sudden I'm getting a strange symptom:

Incoming mail appears to be coming in - I can see it briefly in the
Progress window - but most of it just doesn't land in a folder.

It's not going into the Junk E-Mail folder or Deleted Items. It just
vanishes.

When I send test messages to myself they don't show up.

I've checked with my ISP and they can't see anything wrong their end.

Mail does arrive on my iPhone - provided Entourage is Off.

I don't think I've made any radical changes to any settings, though I
did update a couple of Rules the other day - but they don't instruct
regular email to do anything different.

Here's what I've done so far:

Rebuilt the Entourage database
Repaired Permissions with Disk Utility
Run the maintenance scripts with Cache Cleaner for Snow Leopard

All help and suggestions gratefully received!

Aha! It looks like wasn't as careful with the Rule I amended as I
thought. I inadvertently instructed ALL messages to get zapped, not the
ones I wanted dealt with.

Panic over - though this might be useful to others, I suppose.

I have NEVER EVER NOT EVEN REMOTELY come close to committing this
error... more than about 5 times a week!
