Incoming mail server resets constantly to localhost

Outlook sets up Incoming mail server of one of my E-Mail acounts to
"localhost" constantly. After I correct and enter my incoming mail server, it
works properly for sometime and then outlook sets it back to "Localhost"
Why is this happening and how can I correct it?

This is not caused by Outlook but by your virusscanner that acts as a sort
of mail proxy to scan the messages. See the documentation of your
virusscanner on how you can disable this.

Does e-mail actually stop working when the server name changes back to
localhost? Didn't think so. You have e-mail scanning enabled in your
anti-virus software. It runs as a local proxy so it reconfigures your
e-mail client to point to the AV proxy so it can scan it. You can
probably disable e-mail scanning in your AV program.

Your settings are not being changed by Outlook. They are being changed by an
anti-spam or anti-virus program.
