Incorporate a movie into a Powerpoint presentation

I want to incorporate a couple of short scenes from a DVD movie into a
powerpoint presentation. I can play the DVD on my laptop computer, which
runs on XP. However, I don't know how to copy a clip from the movie, nor do
I know how to incorporate the movie into my Powerpoint presentation. Can
anyone explain how this is done? Thank you.
