Incorrect auto date insertion

Suddenly, when I begin to enter a date on a Word doc, the auto feature is inserting an incorrect date. e.g if I begin to enter "July...expecting it to complete automatically with today's date (e.g. July 12, 2008) it is now entering "7" no matter what the correct date is. It just began doing this on July 7. Previously, it worked correctly. Oddly, if I use the "insert date" feature, it inserts the correct date, as it always has.

Quit and relaunch Word. Does that solve the problem?

I believe Word's AutoText only picks up the new date at launch--this is
a known issue if you leave Word running for days. Insert | Date works
differently, I guess.

Yes, that worked -- thanks! I had several Word docs open for several days, and i hadn't closed out Word since then, keeping my computer on the whole time. Thanks again for your help!
