Incorrect calendar event dates

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: intel
Email Client: Exchange

Am running Entourage 2008 on a MacBook Pro with Leopard. I have done all updates to Office 2008 & Leopard.

Problem: When creating Calendar events the start and end date show up as "Fri, Apr 102, 200810215". Also, no matter what date I select as start/end date they both default to Jan 1, 2008 for some reason.

Ofcourse recipients of my calendar events are thrilled at not having to attend another meeting since it happens in the past! And I get to say they were assigned said work in that meeting.

Use Entourage --> Switch Identity... to create a new identity and set up
your Exchange account again. Do you still see the same behavior? If not
then you may want to consider sticking with the new identity.

Hope this helps!

What date format setting are you using in the OS preference (system
preference -> International -> Formats)? Try to use one that is as similar
as the "US/computer" to see whether this gets solved.

Thanks
Mu

I WAS using the format that was standard in Leopard for a US English user. I did not change this setting.

However, my guess on the problem was related to the following. I had transferred my data and applications from an older MacBook (Tiger) which used had Office 2003 although I had stopped using Entourage on it for a long time. After doing the transfer (using Migration Assistant on first start of MBPro with Leopard) I installed Office 2008 and uninstalled Office 2003.

I just erased & re-installed Leopard on the MBPro and then did a clean install of Office 2008. Success! Seems like (i.e. my guess is that) the older Entourage 2003 settings during the transfer from Tiger might have caused the problem. All my other applications did not face any such problems after the transfer. Firefox, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Thunderbird and lots of other apps. were able to use their transferred settings & data successfully.

Something to investigate? Not sure how unique this issue/problem is - using Migration Assistant to move apps. over.

Are you referring to Office 2004 (Or office X)? We don't have the version of
2003.

I guess you don't have a copy of your settings for the old version now?
Otherwise, you can try some investigation with it. For example, you can try
to upgrade to 2008 directly with the old settings without using Migration
assistant, which will indicate whether this is an upgrade issue or
Migration Assistant issue.

Thanks
