incorrect fonts in auto text

I get an illegible font when I insert file name & path with auto text.
Arial 12 shows as ⨪⨪⨪⨪⨪⨪⨪⨪⨪⨪⨪⨪⨪⨪⨪
Any suggestions?

Possibly the autotext entry has become damaged. Close Word, and rename
your normal.dot global template as described in
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/BlankDocNotBlank.htm . Start Word,
and try to insert the file name and path. If it works, you can copy
your customizations from the old normal.dot to the new one by following
the instructions in the aforementioned article.
