incorrect office product key after xp downgrade

I just bought a Sony Vaio laptop that came with Windows Vista Business. The
first thing I did when I got the laptop was downgrade it to xp using the
downgrade discs.

It seems like the downgrade to xp was successful. I didn't encounter any
problems. However, I just opened microsoft word and entered the product key
that is on the bottom of the laptop. It keeps saying the key in incorrect.
Does anyone know why??

The poduct key on the bottom of the laptop is usually just for the windows
operating system. Your pile of documentation should include the Office key
on a seperate page/certificate.

Your question may be better answered in a newsgroup appropriate to your
problem. I would think that Sony support should be the best source of help.
