I use hyperlinks to on-line files extensively--often hundreds of links in a
single work in progress.
Within a single document that I have been editing over a period of many
weeks, between the time I set such a hyperlink and when I attempt to use it,
some unknown process resets it to an invalid address that inevitably refers
to a location in some subdirectory of the "Documents and Settings"
directory--a subdirectory that does not exist.
For instance, what I set as
G:\W\Bibliography\Bib New.doc#Baird_onHertz
becomes
E:\Documents and Settings\gladney.HMG2D\Application Data\Microsoft\Bib
New.doc#Baird_onHertz
(1) What process accomplishes this erroneous resetting?
(2) Can I avoid this happening, and if so, how?
(3) Can I globally reset the prefix of hyperlinks to undo the damage?
