Incorrect status reported on linked tasks

I have one user makes heavy use of linked plans. The owner of the master
plan informs me that ghosted tasks appear as incomplete on the master plan
but the sub plan shows the task as complete. If the task is re-linked, the
status is re-established and correct. This does not affect all linked tasks
but it always affects some linked tasks.

Sally:

Have the user go to Tools > Options > and make sure that the option check
box is selected for "Show Links Between Projects dialog on open.
Alternately, you can select the box "Automatically accept new external data"
If one of these isn't selected, you'll not have the opportunity to update
your plan based on the external links. If the first option is selected,
you'll get prompted to update the project on open, the second options simply
does it in the background. If neither box is selected, nothing happens.
