Incorrect type justification in Entourage header fields

I have a field formatting problem in Entourage 2004 that started happening
only recently. Wondering if anyone can explain this:

Symptom: It appears that Entourage behaves strangely after waking from
sleep. Specifically, when clicking on any email (preview), or opening the
item, or creating a new item, the 'Subject' field fills from the right and
stays there. This also happens when typing in the To or cc: fields.

Current fix: If I quit and restart Outlook, or if I restart the system, the
problem is gone until the Mac sleeps and awakens. Then it's back to the
same problem.

I tried attaching a low-res screenshot (72 dpi, 128K) of the affected fields
so you perhaps take a look for yourself, but the newsgroup server rejected
it even though I've taken it down in size twice now.

Any ideas? Something corrupted? Bug?

Thanks.

P.S. And why can't one attach a small image; seems to me this helps by
providing visuals that often aren't easy to describe in words.

The problem you describe has been mentioned about 3 or 4 times already, but
nobody seems to have a resolution.

Here's some basic troubleshooting tips:

First, create a new identity in entourage (file menu, 'switch identities' &
select 'new'). If the problem does not recur in the new identity it is
likely to be database corruption. Rebuild the database or, if necessary,
start a new one and migrate whatever data you can over.

Then, create a new system login, and log in to OS X using that. Start up
entourage and see if the problem is present there. If it is cured now, it is
likely to be due to preference file corruption. Remove the following files:

/Users/[YourUserName]/Library/Preferences/com.microsoft.Entourage.plist
/Users/[YourUserName]/Library/Preferences/com.microsoft.OfficeNotifications.
plist
/Users/[YourUserName]/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Office Registration
Cache 11
/Users/[YourUserName]/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/com.microsoft.AlertsDaem
on.plist
/Users/[YourUserName]/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Office 11 First Run
/Users/[YourUserName]/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Microsoft Office ACL
[English]
/Users/[YourUserName]/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Office Font Cache (11)
/Users/[YourUserName]/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/OLE Registration
Database 11
/Users/[YourUserName]/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/com.microsoft.Office.pre
fs.plist
/Users/[YourUserName]/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/com.microsoft.Entourage.
prefs.plist
/Users/[YourUserName]/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Microsoft Office
Settings (11)
/Users/[YourUserName]/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Entourage Preferences

If there's still no joy, remove the whole office installation with the
'remove office' utility installed in the original programme folder
(/Applications/Microsoft Office 2004/Additional Tools/Remove Office/Remove
Office) and re-install from scratch.

Please let us know how you get on, getting a fix for this problem would be
nice.

PS there shouldn¹t be any problem sending attachments to this list, see
below...

THe problem is out there.. I have found nothing but I have found that
it is not sleep related, it is after rendering a rich mail, like with
images etc.

I have found the only way to fix it is to restart entourage, after
viewing these type of messages.

Keep me in the loop?
